Pink Pearl and Crystal Jewellery
The other week I decide that I would start a blog series about prom accessories, it’s that time of year again and our lucky year 11 students get to celebrate their finial year at high school with a prom or valedictory.
10 years ago proms weren’t really a common occurrence in the UK but as the years pass by and my school days seem to get further away we’ve embraced that Americans passion for getting dressed up, making ourselves look pretty and dancing the night away.
I’m not a pink kinda girl (however it seems to be growing on me since the birth of my daughter last December) but I asked my facebook fans what colour of jewellery I should create first and they suggested pink so here it is. It was originally designed for bridesmaids but they can double up as pink prom jewellery.
I decided to spoil myself by working with sterling silver wire on this first bracelet, it was a novelty for me and I loved the fact that this bracelet is created entirely from sterling silver and Swarovski, even the clasp is handmade by shaping the wire and hammering it to give it strength.

That’s not the only sterling silver pink prom bracelet that I’ve created either, here’s a more classic type of crystal and pearl bracelet

If you weren’t after a pink bracelet then how about these pretty pink earrings?

And this matching pink pearl and crystal pendant.

What is the difference between the Swarovski pearls and the other types of pearls?

Hi Henri
The Swarovski brand of crystals uses a crystal base which they apply a special coating too. This gives them a lustre like real pearls and they are much more durable than other types of glass pearls as their colour won’t fade and they are much harder to scratch.
