A while ago I designed a bespoke bracelet and earrings for a bride who had sent me a photo of her grandmothers vintage necklace.  You can read the original post here: More Bespoke Bridal Accessories.

Linda sent me a photo last week of her wedding day where she’s wearing the vintage necklace and the bracelet and earrings made to match.  Here’s the photo

Marie and Her daughters tiaras

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

A few months ago Marie contacted me to create something special for her daughters (bridesmaids) to wear for her wedding, she had already chosen dusky pink dresses and wanted bridesmaids tiaras to have just a touch of pink to tie in.  Marie liked the design on the Pearl Cascade Tiara but wanted something a little more simple.  So between us we designed the Marie Wedding Tiara.  You can see the image below.

Marie chose the Crystal and Pearl Bridal Tiara for herself and was a pleasure to work with.  It’s also been great catching up with her on Facebook and seeing the photo’s of the fantastic honeymoon she had in Paris. She’s sent me a few pictures to share with you and I’m sure you’ll agree they all looked fantastic on her wedding day.

Congratulations Marie and Phil

Cats Wedding Hair Vine

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a bride to be who asked me to create a bridal hair vine for her wedding day.  Cat had a very clear idea of the type of wedding vine she wanted and I’ve written a previous blog post which can be read here  – Bridal Hair vines.  Cat’s hair vine was the one shown in the bottom photo.

Cat sent me a few photos of her wedding day and she’s allowed me to share them with you.  As you can see her hair dresser has done a fantastic job with her bridal hair.  Cat had also added frosted leaves to her hair which I think was a fantastic idea.

Cat’s style was simple and elegant which you can see from the image below.  Her choice of a hair vine over a tiara helped with her relaxed fun theme.

A variation on Cat’s hair vine can be found here – Cat Crystal Hair Vine.  This hair vine has been created with clear AB beads in the place of frosted clear beads which was Cat’s choice.  If you want a bespoke bridal accessory created for you, contact me using the contact form and we can discuss your ideas and work within your budget.

Wedding Flower Hair Grips

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

At Wedding and Gems I’m more than happy to create something for my customers and in this case the bride in question had been searching the internet for the perfect wedding flower hair grips.  She’d stumbled across the Funky Wedding Flower but wanted something a little more intricate so we came up with a double headed flower – The Double Flower Wedding Hair Pin.  You can see from the photo below that it has 5 larger leaves and 5 smaller leaves all with pearls and Swarovski crystals.

The Hair grip is shown above is in silver with ivory glass pearls and clear Swarovksi crystals but it is available in gold and with clear AB crystals and fresh water pearls.

Below you can see the Wedding Flower Hair Grip in gold with clear Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls.

These wedding grips are also available on a hair pin. I’ve uploaded them to the site so you can see them for yourself at Double Wedding Flower Pin.

I’m about to post the gold hair grips out to the bride tomorrow so I hope she likes them!

Let me know what you think of these Wedding Flower Hair Grips by leaving your comments below.

Tiara and Jewellery for Anita

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

You may recognise this young lady from some of the images from the website, she’s previously modelled some of our tiaras, hair accessories and jewellery.

Anita was in here GCSE year and she wanted me to design a tiara with matching jewellery for her prom. Her dress was being creating in this gorgeous blue fabric and as soon as I saw it I knew which crystal colour would match perfectly – Indolite. It is a teal – blue colour, that really stands out and makes an impact unlike some of the more subtle colours.

The Process of Designing Anita’s Tiara and Jewellery

Before I even started to think about designing the style of tiara and jewellery for Anita, I needed to get a better idea of how she was planning to wear her hair for the prom. Not only does this influence the design of the tiara but the earrings and necklace as well.

It only took here about 3 minutes to style her hair like it would be for her prom. I wish I could tame my hair that fast. As you can see her hair was up, exposing her neck and ears giving me a great opportunity to design something that will fall elegantly. For her tiara the most obvious place to position it would be where the fringe meets the parting of the backcombed hair, as it’s shown in the picture. But because the simplicity of her hair style I wanted to ensure that the tiara didn’t hide the backcombed hair.

You can see from the picture that the tiara that I designed doesn’t over power the hair style and neither does it get lost in to it.

The jewellery was much simpler to design. Anita had already fallen in love with a pearl wedding necklace that she modelled for me previously, so I adapted that design with clear and indolite crystals and added a few extra along the way.
