Bespoke Bridal Accessories

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

April brought more requests for bespoke bridal accessories then ever before so I’ve been working closely with a lot of brides.  One bride in particular, wanted to keep the same design of the Crystal Sparkle Tiara, the Woven Swarovski Crystal Wedding Bracelet and the Emma Crystal Wedding Earrings but wanted them mainly in clear with a few clear AB crystals incorporated in to give extra sparkle but without being over the top.  The difference between the clear and clear AB Swarovski crystals is that the clear AB have a coating on them which reflects a rainbow of colours and increases the sparkle.  Many brides love these while others prefer to tone down the sparkle by using the Clear crystal.  I’m often asked which is better but it’s down to personal preference and the crystals should match any that you have in you other wedding jewellery or on your wedding dress.  I’ve posted an image of all the bespoke bridal accessories that she bought.

The clear AB crystals aren’t so obvious in this photo but that’s what the bride wanted, just a smattering to increase the sparkle, they are mainly focused around the bottom of the tiara, the middle of the bracelet and the larger crystals on the earrings.

I’m also waiting on specialist Swarovski crystals from the States to create a matching bracelet and earrings for a bride who is wearing her fiance’s grandmothers crystal necklace as part of her wedding jewellery, so I’ll post a photo once the crystals have arrived.  I thought it was a very nice touch to wear her fiance’s family’s heirloom and I’m sure it will help to make them feel like his grandmother is still with them on their wedding day.

Another bride wanted to incorporate two different hair vines and make it longer as she wanted to wrap it into her hair in a particular way.  At the moment I’m waiting on diamante flowers from China, so again I’ll post a picture once that’s made.

I think one of the reasons I love making bespoke bridal accessories is that it provides me with a new challenge and enables me to design something new with a particular person in mind, so if you are looking bridal accessories that will be unique to you, why don’t you email me and see what can be created for your budget.

Red Wedding Tiara and Jewellery

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

More and more western brides are choosing to get married in red, whether this is as subtle as a red wedding tiara and matching red jewellery or the high impact scarlet red wedding dress too. Recently I’ve seen in huge increase in orders for tiaras and jewellery which are accented in red crystals or beads.

In the east it is the cultural norm to get married in red, it symbolises passion and love, in the west our traditional colours are white or ivory which symbolises purity.  For those brides who prefer the traditional white / ivory but want to incorporate a hint of red, the easiest way to do this is in their wedding tiara and jewellery.  Below is a photo of some of the bridal accessories recently created in red.

The red bridal accessories shown in the photo above are Crystal Tiara 022, Crystal Bridesmaids Earrings, Simply Crystal Wedding Necklace, and Alice Wedding Hair Pins.  All this bridal accessories have been created with light Siam Swarovski crystal.

Wedding And Gems most popular wedding jewellery set is also red.  The Pearl and Red Drop Necklace and Bracelet is perfect for those brides on a budget and can be seen below.

If you’ve had a look through the website you will have noticed that most of the handmade bridal accessories have the option of being created with red accents. For example the Crystal Tiara 002 was originally created in Indolite crystals for Anita and you can read the blog post here – Bespoke Tiara for Antia.

As always if you’ve seen something you like but you need it slightly different, just contact me to discuss what you need and I’m sure I can help.

Customised Tiara for Jane

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Some of you will already know that I’m happy to customise any of my tiaras to suit you. Recently I’ve been working on a wedding tiara for a lovely woman I meet at the Blackpool Wedding Fayre. She like the tiara but she wanted it a bit taller and in gold. So I created the Crystal Bridal Tiara 002. As usual all my handmade tiaras can be created in either the silver or gold colour.

I have to say, this lovely lady had set me a good challenge. How do I add the height to the wedding tiara without comprimising the design, especially at the very front of the tiara. On the orginal tiara, the very front of the base has a line of four 6mm crystals, I needed to add something here to stop the wedding tiara from looking stragley. So instead of just having a row of 6mm Swarovski crystals, I created a flower from 6mm crystals to add a focal point.

So here are is a photo

It’s always nice to get feedback from people, especially when you’ve created something from their specification. So I wanted to post the e-mail she sent me.

Just wanted to let you know I received my tiara yesterday. I am really pleased with it, it is gorgeous. Thanks for doing the adjustments for me it is just what I wanted and as a bonus, really light and comfortable. Will be in touch soon to order jewellery.

I have to admit, as much as I like creating wedding tiaras, getting such nice feedback about my creations means the dry and damaged fingers are so worth while!
