Red Wedding Tiara and Jewellery

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

More and more western brides are choosing to get married in red, whether this is as subtle as a red wedding tiara and matching red jewellery or the high impact scarlet red wedding dress too. Recently I’ve seen in huge increase in orders for tiaras and jewellery which are accented in red crystals or beads.

In the east it is the cultural norm to get married in red, it symbolises passion and love, in the west our traditional colours are white or ivory which symbolises purity.  For those brides who prefer the traditional white / ivory but want to incorporate a hint of red, the easiest way to do this is in their wedding tiara and jewellery.  Below is a photo of some of the bridal accessories recently created in red.

The red bridal accessories shown in the photo above are Crystal Tiara 022, Crystal Bridesmaids Earrings, Simply Crystal Wedding Necklace, and Alice Wedding Hair Pins.  All this bridal accessories have been created with light Siam Swarovski crystal.

Wedding And Gems most popular wedding jewellery set is also red.  The Pearl and Red Drop Necklace and Bracelet is perfect for those brides on a budget and can be seen below.

If you’ve had a look through the website you will have noticed that most of the handmade bridal accessories have the option of being created with red accents. For example the Crystal Tiara 002 was originally created in Indolite crystals for Anita and you can read the blog post here – Bespoke Tiara for Antia.

As always if you’ve seen something you like but you need it slightly different, just contact me to discuss what you need and I’m sure I can help.

The Wedding Fair

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

I have just walked in from the Wedding Fair at Samlesbury Hall.  It’s the first time there for me and I have to say I was very impressed with the venue and the staff – Yes I’m jealous of any one lucky enough to be getting married there.

The day didn’t start off so well though, I live 10 minutes away from Samlesbury Hall and what should have been a simple journey turned into a nightmare.  Simply put we got lost and we found ourselves up in the very pretty village of Mellor, not exactly where we needed to be.  Thankfully with a bit of backtracking (and luck) we eventually found our way.  Below is a photo of the Wedding And Gems table at Samlesbury Hall.

I’m glad I did eventually find the venue because I have had a really great day, much better than expected.  I have met so many brides today and some of you have astonished me.  A bride who has the talent to create her own wedding dress made a lasting impression, she has my admiration,  I’d love to be able to take material and a sewing machine and make something beautiful.

It wasn’t just the brides who have left me with good memories but also the brides mothers.  Most brides cringe at the idea of their mother organising their wedding, yes we like them to be involved (usually) but not to the point where they are organising the wedding.  However I met a mother of the bride today who was organising her daughters wedding as she’s currently living in America but having her wedding here in the UK.  This is the second wedding she’s organised for someone else, the first being a wedding for one of her other daughters who lived in Spain and also got married in the UK.  Definitely a mum in a million I think!

There have been so many brides, their mothers, sisters and friends that I have met today that it would be impossible to mention you all.  But it has been very rewarding to spend some time with you and discuss some of your wedding plans.

It isn’t just the brides and their family / friends that have made today so enjoyable but also the other wedding professionals that I have shared a room with today, I wanted to make a special mention to Natalie and Rachel from Travel Counsellors, the Highgate String Quartet who provide beautiful music for the day, Granville from Merlin Magic and his partner in crime Charlie Paul, who entertained me with their fantastic humour and their general craziness.

For those brides-to-be who attended the Samlesbury Hall wedding fair, I really hope you enjoyed it at least half as much as I did and I hope enjoy the rest of your wedding planning.

Tomorrow’s Wedding Fair

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Tomorrow Wedding And Gems will be showcasing some of their most popular products at the Samlesbury Hall Wedding Fair in Lancashire.  I will be there to offer advice to yourself as brides-to-be and answer any queries you might have about bridal accessories in general.

I’m currently in the middle of getting everything organised for tomorrow, the leaflets are almost done, my new business cards have arrived and my wedding tiaras, hair accessories and jewellery are safely packed away for the short car journey tomorrow.

As always I get a little excited when doing wedding fairs, it gives me a chance to meet my customers.  I often don’t get to meet you, but I do enjoy getting to know you through email and having a sneak peak at your wedding plans.  I got married 2 years ago, so even though all the excitement of planning a wedding is over for me, I still enjoy sharing these moments with my customers, so it will be good to meet you.

My first wedding fair was at Blackpool a few years ago and I remember a particular customer in particular, Jane, she was extremely bubbly, and was planning to wear a elegantly cut smooth silk wedding dress, we had a long discussion about the perfect tiara and jewellery for her and as a result the Crystal Bridal Tiara 002 was born.  In fact that’s her tiara, the one shown the page.

What really excites me about tomorrow is that I know at least one of you will be that extraordinary that you will bring a smile to my face for years to come, just like Jane.  So join us at tomorrows wedding fair, come meet  Emma as well, she’s going to be around if you need any more advice.
