New Diamante Headbands

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

Diamante headbands are always popular for weddings, headbands in general are a great easy accessory to wear and those decorated with diamante really catch the light and sparkle.

I’ve been busy making new bridal accessories and I’ve made a quite a few new diamante headbands, some are just diamante stones, others have have pearls and some have Swarovski crystals as well.  I’ll show you a sample of some of the ones I’ve made below.  As usual to read more information just click the image to be taken to the product page.

As I mentioned before this is just a small sample you can see all the diamante headbands we have in stock by clicking here: Wedding Headbands.

I haven’t included any side tiaras here but I know many people consider them to be the same thing as headbands.  There are a number of diamante side tiaras available and you can see those here: Diamante Side Tiaras.

Our Favourite Wedding Headbands

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

The collection of wedding headbands available at Wedding And Gems have been growing steadily this year, so I thought I’d talk about some of my favourite designs.

I thought I’d start with one of the best selling headbands which is the Crystal Dream Wedding Headband.  It’s full of sparkle because it is created with Swarovski and Czech crystals to keep the cost manageable for the everyday bride.  This headband is created with mostly clear crystal with a smattering of Clear AB crystals which enhance the sparkle.

If you were looking for something which included pearl then the Crystal and Pearl Wedding Headband is a great and popular choice.  It’s created with ivory fresh water pearls and clear Swarovski crystals in 2 different sizes creating sparkle amongst the lustre of the pearls.

If you wanted a more delicate pearl and crystal headband then the Jasmine Wedding Headband could be the right choice for you.  It was created as part of our Jasmine Bridal range and is the smaller sister of the Jasmine Double Band Wedding Tiara which as a double headband.

A wedding headband with a focal point to the side, like the Crystal Tiara 012 offers the bride extra detail but the ease of wearing a headband.  This headband has Swarovski crystal sprigs shooting from the side with a headband of silver seed beads and Swarovski crystals.

If your favourite headband isn’t shown here, then click over to our wedding headbands and let me know which one you prefer in the  comments section below.

As usual if you want a headband created just for you, you can always contact me and ask me to create a bespoke wedding headband to meet your budget.

Bridal Hair Accessories for Beach Weddings

Monday, November 8th, 2010

If you’re planning on getting married on a golden sandy beach under a cloudless blue sky and warm sun then you probably aren’t the type of woman who wanted a big white traditional wedding in a church with a huge white dress, train and veil.  You might not even be the type to wear a wedding tiara, but prefer something more causal or low key.  So what are your options for decorating your hair at your beach wedding?

side tiarasIf you’re wearing your hair down, then a side tiara or wedding headband might be the easiest option.  They’re simple to wear and can easily be slipped into place without the need for a hair dresser or a friend to help you.  If you’re not a headband kind of girl and to be honest I don’t feel like any type of headband suits me then you might want to choose something else.

A lot of brides wear their hair half up and half down which gives them plenty of options for decorating their wedding hair.  The first thing that springs to mind is a wedding comb which can be worn to the side or the back of the hair, again these are pretty easy to place but you might need to have a few practice sessions just to make sure that you can slide it into your hair at the right angle and make sure it stays were it’s supposed too.

If you don’t fancy the weight of a bridal comb them you could always choose grips.  These could be made from crystals, pearls or diamante and be as simple or as detailed as you like.  They don’t need to be functional, so if you’ve used other things to keep your hair in place you can just slide them in to your hair where you want them.  After a headband these are probably the easiest bridal hair accessory to place.  You can get most wedding hair grips designs on hair pins.  These are the longer 2 pronged pins which hold buns and other chunky hair styles in place.  If you’re used to styling your hair with regular hair pins then you shouldn’t have any problems using these.

wedding hair vinesBridal hairvines are becoming more popular for beach weddings, this is because of their range of uses and the causal style.  You can read more about hairvines and how they can be used by reading this previous blog post – Bridal Hair Vines. Depending on how you’re planning on wearing your hairvine you may need a friend on hairdresser to style your hair properly, but if you’re using a short hairvine just to highlight the parting of your hair or follow the sweep of your fringe you shouldn’t have a problem securing it yourself with a few hair grips.

Of course if you want to there’s nothing stopping you from wearing a wedding tiara at your beach wedding, but I find many brides prefer a more casual look.

Wedding Headbands

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

There’s a big trend for Wedding Headbands at the moment, I’m not sure whether this is because they are very easy to wear, just slip them on and off you go, or because headbands in general are back in fashion.  But the collection of Wedding Headbands at Wedding And Gems is growing so I though they deserved their own category and it makes them easier for you to find too.

I think one of the big advantages of having a headband over a tiara is that they are a number of ways to wear it, it can be worn with the hair down or up, a headband can be pined into place and used as a bun wrap or can be worn as a tiara.

What prompted this blog post was the creation of the Jet Wedding Headband which you can see below.

You can see from the image that this wedding headband is very simple yet striking in design.  For most brides black may seem like an odd colour to have in a bridal accessories but you’d be surprise how much black is around in the wedding industry at the minute.

I think one of my favourite wedding headband designs is the Jasmine Double Band Tiara which can be worn as a headband or in a tiara style.

It was created as part of the Jasmine Bridal Collection which also has its own blog post – New Bridal Collection for 2009.
