New Wedding Jewellery – Pearl and Crystal Earrings

Friday, July 16th, 2010

A while ago I said I was going to concentrate on creating more wedding jewellery so I’ve started with 2 pairs of pearl and Swarovski crystal earrings.  Sometimes I get stuck deciding what to name new bridal accessories so I thought I’d ask my little boy for inspiration. He gave me the names of his 2 favourite female friends, Sammy and Bethany, so that what these 2 pairs of earrings have been called.

A lot of my wedding  jewellery designs are quite delicate and simple because that’s the style I prefer for my own jewellery but I thought I would challenge myself to do something different. So these designs are slightly chunkier which is great if you’re planning on using earrings as your signature piece of wedding jewellery.

Bethany Wedding Earrings

The Bethany earrings (shown below) are available with a sterling silver earposts and scroll backs with clear or clear AB Swarovski crystals and ivory glass pearls.  If you want more information on these wedding earrings then just follow this link - Bethany Wedding Earrings.

Sammy Wedding Earrings

The second pair of wedding earrings I’ve designed are the Sammy Wedding Earrings.  These have a similar pearl and crystal cluster but differ in the way they connect to the earwires.  The Sammy Wedding Earrings are available with either sterling silver or gold plated earwire and clear or clear AB Swarovski crystals.  For more information about these wedding earrings follow the link – Sammy Wedding Earrings.

As usual I’d love to get your feedback on these designs, would you prefer them in a different pearl colour?  If you’re interested in looking through the collection of earings at Wedding And Gems then head over to the Bridal Earrings section of the site.

Bespoke Wedding Jewellery

Friday, June 11th, 2010

A few weeks ago a bride to be Lauren contacted me  and asked me to created a bespoke hairvine.  The hair vine was a combination of my Bridal Hair Vine and Diamante Pearl Bridal Hair Vine, but she wanted it much longer. As soon as she received the hairvine she was emailing again asking me to make her wedding jewellery. You can see a picture of the hairvine below (sorry for the bad quality) and below that Laurens wedding jewellery.

Wedding Jewellery

Lauren wanted a bracelet, necklace and earrings to match, we already had starting elements, the design had to include fresh water pearls, clear Swarovski crystals and silver diamante flowers. When I work with brides to create bespoke items my first starting point is to find out exactly what ideas the bride has, some brides don’t know what they want, they prefer me to create something for them and as long as it includes certain elements and follows a rough guide they’re happy for me to just get creative.  Others come to me with a clear idea of what they want so I like to allow people to have as much input into the design as they feel comfortable with.

As I’d already worked with Lauren before to design her hairvine she knows then I tend to send a rough sketch of my ideas for brides to approve and amend, but this time round she beat me to it and sent me her sketch of how she imagined her jewellery, so these are mostly Laurens designs, I just made a few amendments.  It’s great when you have a bride who has a clear vision of what they want you to create and are able to communicate this effectively, it makes the working relationship very pleasurably and working closely with brides is something I still continue to enjoy. (I’ve yet to come across a bridezilla).

Below you can see Lauren’s wedding jewellery.  Because Laurens jewellery was custom-made I was able to make the necklace the prefect length and ensure the bracelet fit just right.

Wedding Jewellery – Wedding And Gems

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

I thought I would put together some of my favourite pieces of wedding jewellery that I have created for Wedding and Gems.  I’ve used glass and fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystal and diamante to create wedding jewellery fit for a bride such as yourself.  Below we’ll take a look at some of these pieces of jewellery.  Feel free to leave your comments.

Personally my favourite item of wedding jewellery is the Sophie Bridal Necklace which can be seen below.  It’s handcrafted from a stunning mixture Swarovski crystals and fresh water pearls with a Swarovski baroque crystal acting as a beautiful pendant to complete the piece.

Another of my favourites is the Crystal and Pearl Choker.  This unusual piece of wedding jewellery is shown below with clusters of Swarovski crystals and fresh pearls with silver beads adding a modern twist.  Because I like to cater for brides with different types of budgets this piece is available with round glass pearls at a cheaper cost.

My plan is to create a matching bracelet for this wedding choker, and I’ll let you know as soon as it is available.

There are many more bridal necklaces that I would like to feature in this post but that wouldn’t leave any room for other types of wedding jewellery such as earrings and bracelets.  I’ll show you my favourite and also best selling wedding earrings.  These are the Swarovski Crystal Drop Earrings.  The main feature of this item of wedding jewellery is the tumbling Swarovski crystals which are shown in clear AB below.

Last but not least I’ll show you my favourite wedding bracelet, the Tiffiny Crystal and Fresh Water Pearl Bracelet.  What I love most about this piece of wedding jewellery is it’s simplicity and elegance.  Nestled between fresh water pearls are different sizes of Swarovski crystals, shown in clear below.  Because of it’s design this bracelet matches many of our other pieces of jewellery and tiaras.

I hope you like some of the designs I’ve commented on today, of course I’d love to hear your comments on these items of wedding jewellery, so send in your opinions.

Wedding and Gems – Holidays

Monday, October 27th, 2008

I’m actually away on my family holidays (it’s half term) but as usual I’ve been unable to drag myself away from Wedding And Gems.  So as a compromise I’ve left my tiara and jewellery making materials and tools at home and I’ve been allowed to bring my laptop so I can keep an eye on things.

I’ve only been away a few days and already I’m itching to create tiaras and wedding jewellery, so instead I’ve been sat with a pen and paper designing new bridal accessories.  Unfortunately you’ll have to wait a few weeks for me to create them as I’ll be busy with orders as soon as I get home.

Speaking of orders for wedding tiaras and jewellery, the sites been a lot busier than I expected for this time of year, so I’ll take this opportunity to say thank you for your business and very kind words.  I get so much satisfaction from brides who contact me after receiving their wedding tiaras or jewellery (and in many cases both) just to say how beautiful they are and how they can’t wait to wear them on their wedding day.

For those of you that have yet to buy your bridal accessories, feel free to contact me and get to know me a little.  Your wedding day is important and I would like the necessary task of chosing your bridal accessories to be an enjoyable and satisfying experience.

I sincerley hope that your wedding planning is going well.

More Bridal Accessories at Wedding and Gems

Friday, September 19th, 2008

If you’ve read the previous post you will already now that I’ve added quite a number of bridal accessories to the Wedding and Gems site.  I’ve been experimenting with new materials recently and got my hands on some lovely natural fresh water pearls.  This week has been my first chance to really work with the pearls and I’m really please with the combination of fresh water pearls and Swarovksi crystals makes, glamour and elegance all rolled into one.

I think my favourite out of all the bridal accessories I’ve created is the Dream Bridal Necklace. Fresh water pearls and Swarovski crystal clusters make up this beautiful pendant which is supplied on a 16 inch chain.  I have designed matching earrings to but they have yet to make it onto the site.  A job for weekend I think.

I’ve also create a wedding jewellery set using fresh water pearls and Swarovski crystals – The Simply Pearl and Crystal Bridal Accessories.  The design is very versitile, lending itself to many different styles of wedding dress necklines.  This bridal jewellery set comprises of a 16 inch necklace and a 7 inch bracelet.

Last but not least, I created a classic pearl and crystal necklace – the Tiffiny Crystal and Fresh Water Pearl Necklace.  Again with fresh water pearls and clear Swarovski crystals.  The necklace has 2 strands at different lengths giving a more fuller appearance.

I am planning on designing many more bridal accessories, in fact I have a number of ideas for tiaras, which I’m planning on creating over the weekend.  So don’t forget to bookmark us so you don’t miss anything.

I’ve allowed comments on this post as I’m interested on your thoughts of these bridal necklaces.  Is there something you would have preferred instead?
