A Tiara or no Tiara - An Interesting Question
Tiaras were a status symbol in times gone by, often worn at official functions by queens and princesses. They are still technically a status symbol today, as a wedding tiara signifies the most important person in the room - the bride. Wedding Guests and any onlookers have no doubt who the bride is (or who are the bridesmaids if they are wearing tiaras) especially if they aren’t in formal wedding attire. If you’re not having a traditional wedding dress, definitely opt for a wedding tiara as it will ensure that you can be seen as the bride in a crowded room and are the always centre of attention.
If you’re having a veil, grab a tiara as it hides the veil comb well. Also if you were planning on removing your veil when it came to the wedding breakfast (just so it doesn’t getting in the way of eating), you’ll still have some decoration in your hair. If this was your intention, ensure you don’t by tiaras which have veils attached. You might think it might make things a little easier when your getting ready, but if you buy a combined veil and tiara, not only will you have limited flexibility on how to wear your veil and tiara but once you have to removed your wedding veil to eat, the tiara has to come of too.
The reason I decided that I wanted to wear a wedding tiara instead of any alternatives is that it does have an effect of making you feel special. A lot of brides have a childhood dream and have imagined themselves as a princesses, a tiara helps you to act out that fantasy on one of the biggest days of your life.
- It really does make you feel special
- It marks you out as one of the most important people in the room
- If your wedding dress isn’t easily visible for example sitting down to eat or close up photography you’ll still look like a bride
- A wedding tiara will compliment veil if you choose to wear one by hiding the veils attachment method.
If you’re undecided on whether you want to wear a tiara on your wedding day, ask yourself this question? “When I imagined my own wedding when I was a child, what was my tiara like?” If you can clearly remember what your tiara looked like in your child like wedding fantasies then in your heart you want to have the chance of wearing a wedding tiara. As you only usually get to wear a tiara once, make sure you don’t regret losing the chance to wear one, don’t dismiss your childhood fantasies as silly or important
